Privacy Policy

This policy is a draft template. It accurately reflects how Abunsh currently handles data, but it has not been reviewed by a privacy attorney. Before public launch, this document should be replaced with a legally-vetted version appropriate for the jurisdictions in which the service operates.

1. Who this policy covers

This policy describes how Abunsh ("we", "us") collects, uses, and protects information about visitors to abunsh.com ("the site") and users of the Abunsh web application ("the service").

2. What we collect

We collect a deliberately small set of information:

  • Email address — only if you voluntarily subscribe to monthly market updates or create an account.
  • State preference — the US state you were viewing when you subscribed via the in-app modal. Used to send relevant updates.
  • Usage data — pages viewed, features used, browser type, approximate location (country/region), referrer. Captured via privacy-friendly analytics.
  • Account data (Pro subscribers only) — payment metadata managed by Stripe; we never store credit card numbers.

We do not collect:

  • Your name, address, phone number, or other identifying details (unless you voluntarily provide them).
  • Browsing activity outside abunsh.com.
  • Third-party tracking pixels or advertising cookies.

3. How we use it

  • Email address: to send the monthly market update you subscribed to, and operational emails about your account if you have one.
  • State preference: to tailor the content of your monthly email to the state you indicated interest in.
  • Usage data: to understand which features are used, fix bugs, and improve the service.
  • Account / payment data: to operate your Pro subscription, including billing and renewal.

4. Where your data lives

Your information is stored with the following service providers:

  • Supabase — primary database (subscriber list, account data). Hosted in the United States.
  • Vercel — application hosting and analytics. Hosted in the United States.
  • Resend — transactional and marketing email delivery (planned). Hosted in the United States.
  • Stripe — payment processing for Pro subscriptions (planned). Hosted in the United States.

Each provider operates under its own privacy policy and security standards. We have selected providers with strong reputations for data security and customer privacy.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

Abunsh uses only essential cookies — those required for the site to function (e.g., remembering your session if signed in). We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party marketing tags.

6. Your choices and rights

  • Unsubscribe: Every email we send includes a one-click unsubscribe link. Once unsubscribed, you will not receive marketing emails from Abunsh again.
  • Deletion: Email hello@abunsh.com at any time to request that we delete all data associated with your email address. We will confirm deletion within 30 days.
  • Access and export: You can request a copy of all data we hold about you by emailing the same address.
  • Correction: If any data we hold about you is inaccurate, contact us and we will correct it promptly.

7. Children

Abunsh is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

8. International users

Abunsh is operated from Australia and primarily serves users in the United States. If you are accessing the service from outside these jurisdictions, your information will be transferred to and stored in the locations described in section 4. By using the service, you consent to this transfer.

9. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data: HTTPS encryption in transit, encrypted database storage, restricted access controls, and regular security review of our service providers. No system is perfectly secure, but we treat your data with care.

10. Changes to this policy

We will update this policy when our practices change. Material changes will be communicated via email to active subscribers and noted at the top of this page with a revised "last updated" date.
